Genuinely quiet, built from real materials, engineered on propane for the 2029 refrigerant rules, and fitted by our own trained crews.
The wall system is never sold as a box: our own crews fit it from launch, and a portable you can simply buy follows at launch.

Design study: the chalk mineral direction at night. Pre-production concept.
Brochures quote sound power in the lab. Your neighbour hears sound pressure at a distance. They are different numbers, and almost nobody publishes the second one. We do. Drag the distance and compare.
Sound power figures are from the public European product registry, read August 2026. Pressure at distance is a free field estimate; a real garden with walls and fences differs, which is why every Balmair installation gets a measured figure, not a promised one. The German night limit in a purely residential area is 35 dB(A) at the neighbour's window.
The category leader sells decorative panels that imitate wood, leather and fabric in print, and says so on its own website. We think the room deserves the real thing: a machined, bead-blasted aluminium face or a matt mineral composite, mechanically clipped over the chassis, never printed.
No logo on the front face. One soft indicator you can switch fully off. A front panel that lifts off with two hands and no tools.
Most brands ship a beautiful indoor unit bolted to a grey box. Ours is designed as one system: a wrapped aluminium shell in graphite or chalk, a fine laser-cut fan guard, hidden pipework, and anti-vibration mounts in the box, not on a price list.

Three of the biggest names in this market publish no consumer warranty for room air conditioners in Britain at all, and where cover exists it quietly dies unless you pay for servicing every year. We would rather be checkable.
Answer four questions and get an honest starting point. Your installer confirms the final sizing on site; a survey beats a form every time.
A guide, not a survey. Heat gain depends on insulation, aspect and occupancy; your installer confirms the sizing on site before anything is ordered.
The people who fit an Balmair are Balmair: employed, trained and badged crews, not a marketplace of strangers. Where our crews have not launched yet, certified local installers buy through our trade programme and fit it, and the portable needs no engineer at all.
One published price per room size at launch, interest free instalments at checkout, a survey date with our own crew, and a measured sound reading at your boundary in writing. Launching city by city, London and the South East first.
A genuinely quiet propane portable you order online and plug in, anywhere in the country. On sale with the launch range; no installer needed.
Certified installers outside our crew cities buy through the trade programme: stock, spares in 48 hours, technical library and honest acoustic data.
Check what your home allows, size the room, and join the launch list for your city.
